INEC de-registers 74 political parties
INEC releases new list of political parties in Nigeria and de-registers 74 other political parties
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has Released the recent list of all political parties in Nigeria.
A total of seventy-four other political parties were delisted. According to the statement made available by the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the political parties delisted are the ones that have failed to fulfill the constitutional requirements of the country.
The list which is published on their Twitter page has listed a total of eighteen political parties.
Among the parties are: A, AA, ADC, AAC, ADP, APC, APGA, APM, LP, NNPP, NRM, PDP, PRP, SDP, YPP, ZLP, BP and APP.
Among the parties listed is Acton People’s Party (APP), which has not met the requirements but still retained by court order, pending the determination of the case. Another party among them is also Boot party (BP) which is registered by court order in August, 2019, but is yet to participate in any election.
